Dr. Crisp grew up in Trenton, Tennessee, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee Martin. He graduated from the Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. He spent his first year of practice in Fulton, Kentucky and moved to Dyersburg in 1982. Dr. Crisp is a member of the Dyer County Fair Board, the board of directors at First South Bank and is a part of the Dyersburg Rotary Club. He has one son, Austin that is enrolled at MTSU.

Dr. Crisp enjoys UT football, traveling, spending time at the lake and working on his farm. He has a dog named “Nick” and a cat named ”Smokey”.
