Dr. Harris grew up in Troy, Tennessee, and graduated from the University of Tennessee, Martin in 1982, with a Bachelor of Animal Science. He graduated from The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. Dr. Harris practiced three years in Weakley County and came to work for Dyer County Animal Hospital in 1988. He enjoys hunting, fishing and antique furniture.
He is a Deacon at the West Dyersburg Church of Christ. His wife of 30 years, Debbie works for the State of Tennessee. They have two daughters. Emilee is 25 years old and is a radiology student at Jackson State. The younger of the two, Elizabeth, is 20 years old and is a pre-pharmacy student at UTM. Dr. Harris owns two dogs, “Roxie” and “Charlie”, one cat named “Patches” and a parrot named “Rascal”.
