dr. james a. crisp
Dr. James A. Crisp
Dr. Crisp grew up in Trenton, Tennessee, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee Martin. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. He spent his first year of practice in Fulton, Kentucky, and moved to Dyersburg in 1982. Dr. Crisp is a member of the First United Methodist Church, he is a member and past president of the Dyersburg Noon Rotary Club, and a past member of the Dyer County Fair Board. He is married to Janna and has one son Austin and two stepsons, Alexander and Harrison.

Dr. Crisp enjoys UT football, traveling, spending time at the lake, and working on his farm. He has a golden retriever named “Knox”, a miniature collie named “Bella”, and a cat named “Tigger”.

Dr. William T. Dickerson
Dr. Dickerson grew up in Union City, Tennessee. He completed his graduate studies at The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1982. He then practiced in Greenville and Ripley, Tennessee before joining Dyer County Animal Hospital in 1985. Dr. Dickerson and his wife Elizabeth have three sons, three daughters-in-law, and a growing litter of grandchildren.

They have three cats, two dogs, and three horses. He and his family are members of the First United Methodist Church of Dyersburg. Dr. Dickerson currently is a member of the TVMA and served on the board in the past. He is also serving on the TVMA State Committee for Peer Review. His hobbies include golfing, water skiing, quail hunting, and horseback riding.

Dr. John M. Harris
Dr. Harris grew up in Troy, Tennessee, and graduated from the University of Tennessee, Martin in 1982, with a Bachelor of Animal Science. He graduated from The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. Dr. Harris practiced three years in Weakley County and came to work for Dyer County Animal Hospital in 1988. He enjoys hunting, fishing and antique furniture.

He is a Deacon at the West Dyersburg Church of Christ. His wife of 36 years, Debbie is the director on the Community Cancer Fund for Dyer County. They have two daughters. Emilee is 31 years old is a nurse for St. Thomas in Nashville, TN. The younger of the two, Elizabeth, is 26 years old and is an account analyst for The Escape Game Company in Nashville, TN. Dr. Harris owns two dogs, “Roxie” and “Charlie” and a parrot named “Rascal”.

Chelsea, Lab Technician

I love caring for animals because they don’t have a voice and I love being that voice for them and being able to take care of them. Being around animals at the clinic brightens my day everytime I work. In my free time, I love spending time with my children and family, watching horror movies and relaxing at home.

My goal as a veterinarian technician at Dyer County Animal Hospital is to make the patient feel safe. & loved. I don’t like for them to feel alone. My favorite thing to do at work is cleaning and organizing. In my free time I enjoy working on my yard.

Hi! I’m Cynthia and I pride myself in the comfort and health of the patients I care for. I strive to ensure they receive the love and attention I would give my own pets. In my free time I enjoy riding horses and dirtbikes, spending time with my kids and tending to my animals and farm.

I take pride in everything that I do when it comes to assisting the vets and taking care of patients. I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. I also take pride in working with the best teammates who love our furry friends just as much as I do. In my free time I like to fish, kayak, hike, camp and pretty much anything that involves the outdoors. Oh, and eating ofcourse!
