Dr. Dickerson grew up in Union City, Tennessee. He completed his graduate studies at The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1982. He then practiced in Greenville and Ripley, Tennessee before joining Dyer County Animal Hospital in 1985. Dr. Dickerson and his wife Elizabeth have a son Will, a financial advisor for Edward Jones, and his wife Emma, and sons Cole, attending physical therapy school at UT Memphis and Shaw attending pre-physical therapy at Victory University.
They have two cats, four dogs, two horses and a herd of cattle. He and his family are members of the First United Methodist Church of Dyersburg. Dr. Dickerson currently is a member of the TVMA and served on the board in the past. He is also serving on the TVMA State Committee for Peer Review. His hobbies include golfing, water skiing, quail hunting and horseback riding.
